ACGA provides assistance to JFA Junior athletes
Dear Members,
Recently the JFA has selected the team that will represent Australia at the upcoming 2014 Junior World Championships in Ft Lauderdale, USA. The team will compete October 22nd - 26th an consists of the below 6 atheltes:
u/55kg | Bryan JOLLY | VIC |
u/60kg | Joshua KATZ | NSW |
u/66kg | Nathan KATZ | NSW |
u/73kg | Jake BENSTED | VIC |
u/100kg | Elijah SCHUURMANS | TAS |
u/78kg | Melanie WALLIS | VIC |
The JFA and the selected athletes would like to aknowledged that through the Australian Commonwealth Games Association (ACGA), they will be financially assisted in their travel expenses in attending the competiton due to the assistance of the Australian Junior Commonwealth Games Squad (AJCGS) program.
The aim of the program is to assist junior athletes to gain international competiton experience so that they understand the conditions and environment which they will face as seniors. Added, to assist those junior athletes who have the potential to be selected in future Australian Commonwealth Games teams.
This is not the first time that the ACGA have assisted JFA athletes. They also assisted the recently returned Australian team from the 2014 Commonwealth Games were our team obtained 4 x Bronze Medals. This would not have been possible with out the ever continuing support from the ACGA.
