Call for Nominations: National Selection Committee

As you know from earlier updates, the JFA will be reviewing all of our committees over the coming weeks to confirm their purpose, scope and membership.

The National Coaching Committee (NCC) has had two changes in recent weeks with Angela Deacon’s appointment to the JFA Board and Dennis Iverson’s decision to step down from the committee. Given this, it is timely that we start our review process with the NCC.

While the NCC has been a long-standing committee within the JFA, to reflect the core purpose of this committee it will be renamed as the National Selection Committee (NSC).

The NSC will focus on the selection of national athletes, coaches and, where applicable, support staff to participate in activities related to the High Performance Program. There will be four members on this committee, including one person who will fulfill the role of NSC Chair.

If you would like to be considered for the NSC please read the attached scoping document, which outlines the responsibilities and requirements, and then provide your expression of interest to paula.ward@ausjudo.com.au. Your expression of interest should clearly outline the skills and experience you will bring to the NSC, as well as why you are interested in joining this committee. If you have a particular interest in chairing the NSC please include this in your expression of interest.

Expressions of interest must be received by Friday 27 February 2015.

Please note the current NCC will continue to function and fulfill its responsibilities until such time that the announcement regarding the new NSC is made. The current NCC members are able to submit an expression of interest to join the NSC.
