 New CEO Announced

The Board is pleased to announce that after a robust recruitment process we have confirmed a new CEO to lead our organisation.

Alex Vallentine will commence in the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on Monday 7 September, and will be based in Canberra.

With over 10 years' experience working within the sports management industry, Alex has held a diverse range of roles across different sports and within government, both in Australia and overseas.

Alex comes to the JFA from the Australian Sports Commission where he was in the position of Manager, Sport Insights & Government Relations and previously held the role of National Sport Partnership Manager working directly to improve the overall performance of national sporting organisations.

Previous to the ASC, Alex was the CEO of Volleyball ACT and has also lectured in Sports Management at the University of Canberra over a seven-year period.

Combining his experience with a Bachelor of Sports Media (Sports Management), Alex is also a graduate of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.

Alex is looking forward to the challenge of this new role and to working collaboratively with all JFA stakeholders to effectively drive the sport of Judo forward into the future.

Alex will complete an induction during his first week and then focus his attention on an agreed 90-day plan.  This will set both Alex and our organisation up for a successful transition.

Please welcome Alex to our Judo Community.
