Job Vacancy - 2016 Olympic Judo Coach

The JFA’s High Performance Team is committed to facilitating competitive performance at the highest international levels. We are focused on developing long term plans, which are supported by expert coaches and the creation of a positive, daily training environment.

Critical to our success at the Rio Olympics (our next benchmark event) is the early appointment of the Australian Olympic Coach.  We are looking to fulfill this role as soon as possible so that we have the right HP team in place to take us into 2016, and the remaining qualifying events.

The core purpose of the Olympic Coach is to lead the Australian Olympic Judo Team up to and during the 2016 Rio Olympics. The successful candidate will work with our new Performance Director to set the direction for JFA HP Strategy and relevant programs in relation to the 2016 Olympic Games.

The time commitment for the role is estimated to be 8 hours per week (whilst in Australia) and an ability to spend extended periods of time overseas between January and the Olympics.

The role will commence on the Date of Appointment and will end 30 September 2016, unless terminated earlier, and will report to the Performance Director from January 2016.

If you have a demonstrated capacity for managing/coaching an elite judo training program of national athletes then consider applying for this role.  We are looking for an individual with strong verbal communications skills, including the ability to provide constructive feedback to both athletes and personal coaches.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, of mature, positive disposition, a team player and have a passion for excellence including a strong desire to excel, implement change and identify opportunities for improvement.
