Olympic Coach Appointments

The JFA recently advertised for the Australian Olympic Coach position to lead the Olympic Judo Team up to and during the 2016 Rio Olympics.  This new role will be a critical appointment as we look to close in on Olympic Qualification and have the best team prepared for Rio.

Following the National Selection Committee’s recommendation, the JFA is pleased to announce the following high calibre appointments:

No one will doubt the capability and experience of these two coaches.  Between them they have attended 9 Olympic Games, winning various medals during their long international careers and more recently building their own judo centre, where a large majority of our national athletes train.

Daniel has fulfilled many coaching roles over the last few years, notably the NTID Development Coach role and more recently the Senior Worlds Coach for the 2015 World Championships.

Daniel will work with our new Performance Director to set  the direction for JFA HP Strategy and relevant programs in relation to the 2016 Olympic Games.

Over coming weeks Daniel will be familiarising himself with relevant athletes’ Individual Performance Plans and touching base with personal coaches to agree how we work collaboratively toward final qualification and preparatory phases for the Rio Games.

Daniel can be contacted via hp@ausjudo.com.au
