2016 OJU-Kodokan Kata Seminar

This year’s OJU-Kodokan Kata Seminar will be held in Sydney from 6-10 September.  As in past years, instructors from the Kodokan will lead the seminar with their expert instruction on five Judo Katas; Nage no Kata, Katame no Kata, Kim no Kata, Ju no Kata, and KDK Goshin Jutsu. This is an excellent opportunity for Dan candidates to get ready for their examinations, Kata instructors and Dan graders to learn the latest techniques taught at the Kodokan, and Kata enthusiasts to learn the fine details of Kata.

The Kata seminar will conclude with the OJU & Sydney International Open Kata Championships on 10 September.  Participants are encouraged to enter this championships to show off their Kata skills. The championship also will allow participants to be examined as Kata judges.  It should be noted, the Sydney International Open is held on 11 September for those who are competing in Judo shia.
