OUR CATEGORISED ATHLETES
The sport-industry wide National Categorisation Framework consists of five levels across the Podium Pathway.
The Athlete Categorisation Criteria for Judo aligns, as is required, with these five Podium Pathway categories.
In the coming year, the annual categorisation process will be delayed to reflect new guidelines being released by the AIS; Judo Australia will then need to re-align, with the process expected to take place in April 2025.
Athlete Categorisation is usually conducted annually in the final quarter of each calendar year, taking effect from January the following year. A mid-year categorisation consideration may occur to reflect specific performances at events such as the 2024 World Championships.
Judo Australia wish to thank our High Performance partners, Combat Institute of Australia, the AIS, and Victorian Institute of Sport for their ongoing support.
