The International Judo Federation recently advised that the Junior 44kg female and 55kg male categories have been removed with immediate effect at the international level.
Following consultation with our JA High Performance team and the National Sports Committee, the decision has now been made to implement these IJF weight category changes domestically here in Australia from the Melbourne International Judo Open (29-31 March) onwards.
These two weight divisions will still be in place for this month’s ACTIO and Sydney International events.
