The Judo Athlete Categorisation for 2022 has been updated and brought in line with the Athlete Categorisation Criteria published on the Judo Australia and CombatAUS websites.
The major changes to this year’s categorisations are:
The International Category is no longer part of the National Categorisation Framework.
A Judo-specific Commonwealth Games Medal Potential category to recognise athletes that don’t currently meet the performance requirements for the Podium Pathway but are deemed to have medal potential at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
A mid-year categorisations process in 2022 to enable emerging athletes to progress
Annual athlete categorisations will be conducted in the final quarter of each calendar year, taking effect from January in the following year.
